High School Oneonta H. S.Mike was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2000 and by 2003 was playing for Class AA Altoona Curve. In 2005, he pitched for two months with Altoona before being promoted to the AAA Indianapolis Indians. After the 2005 season, Mike was invited to pitch in the Arizona Fall League. His 2006 season was spent playing back and forth between Altoona and Indianapolis. At the conclusion of the 2006 season Mike went to play winter ball in Venezuela. While there he was one of the leading pitchers in the league and made the all-star team. In 2007 Mike went to play for the Kansas City Royals AA team in Wichita, Kansas. He then finished the year in Venezuela. Mike attended spring training with Kansas City in 2008, but ended up playing two months in Taiwan. He then concluded the season in the Atlantic League for the Bridgeport Bluefish. Mike ended his professional playing career in the winter of 2008 in Venezuela. During Mike’s time with the Altoona Curve he had ranked in at 2nd place all-time in wins, 1st all-time in strikeouts and games started.
